[Domestic matters never interested him much and he left such tedious things to is wives to manage. Though it should have occurred to Maegor that his wives might one day be the domestic matter, he overlooked that. For the most part, everything ran smoothly under Armeria's control, but there were moments of squabbling. Ceryse kept to herself, likely ruminating over whatever wrong he supposedly done her (which in his opinion was none), Tyanna was focused on her role as Master of Whispers, and Alys had only recently arrived from Pentos and saw to her own matters. Armeria had control.
So whenever he was interrupted from his meetings or war strategy, being told his wives had fought, it was an annoyance. Though there was always the chance that Tyanna had been the cause, Armeria wasn't without her own fire.
Stalking to her room, he glanced around, seeing that at least nothing had been tossed or broken in fits of rage. So perhaps it wasn't her but one of the others?]
[ Among the wives of Maegor, it is well known which of them their husband tends to appreciate more. Armeria may not be his first wife, nor his second, but she does seem to command a certain level of attention from him. Even if it's mostly during the early morning hours.
With that, Armeria tends to ignite jealousy between herself and the wives. Though there are times when the other wives can't resist and before long, her rage gets the better of her and things get broken. Or, someone gets hurt.
Most of the house staff worry that the Queen's state could take a turn for the worst and given the fact Maegor has yet to see the birth of an heir, he is always called to try and appease her.
This time, however, Armeria seems to have calmed herself down mostly. When Maegor arrives, she is standing by the window, one hand resting on her swollen belly. ]
If you do not send her away until after our son is born, I may very well kill her. I don't care what you do to me for that.
[He's being obstinate and acting he doesn't know the real source of animosity for Armeria. What honestly was Ceryse or Alys going to do to anger her? One was too old to care and the other too newly arrived. Tyanna was the one that picked fights, wanted complete control of whatever situation she was in. Because she acted often as a healer for Maegor and had a position on his council, she got ahead of herself.
But not responding to these things was his preferred response, as it took much of his time and energy on whatever front he was fighting. There were still pockets of the Faith Militant. Aenys's children were grumbling about stolen birthright and stolen crown.
The lack of a son had also started to grow Maegor impatient. Maybe that was the only reason he was willing to actually pay attention now. Armeria's swollen belly was precious...oh, and her too.]
If you want something, you need to be more specific.
[ Tyanna was indeed the reason for Armeria's mood. Only this time, instead of getting under her skin by reminding her of the position she held in the House, she was informing her of what she will do to her and her unborn child.
She is quiet for a long moment before looking at him and in her eyes, there is a mix of fear and concern. ]
Send her on a task. I do not want her here. I fear for our child's life.
[It wasn't as if he couldn't find something for Tyanna to do. Spreading her network of spies, gaining more informers in King's Landing. The sort of things that Maegor should care about but he simply left her to see to. War was more interesting than subterfuge.
But, until his son was born, he wasn't about to risk the babe in Armeria's belly. If Tyanna was testing her patience, very well. It was a simple enough fix without losing his Master of Whisperers. Wasn't that the most important part? That he was largely satisfied?
But he did note Armeria's fear, enough that he watched her steadily for a moment. That was worth watching.]
There are other matters for her to see to outside of King's Landing. For now, my mother will oversee your care personally.
